Games
for this age group consist of 4 ten-minute quarters with breaks
in between. Squads of 4 players (3 on the field, and 1 goalie)
will be switched out each quarter to give more opportunity for
each player to play in every game and for each player to experience
a variety of playing positions. We do not keep score of wins/losses
in this age group. In the event of rain, games will be canceled.
You will be contacted by your coach or your team contact-person.
If it has rained frequently, but the weather is sunny on the day
of your game, the fields may still be too wet and muddy to play
on, so games could be canceled to save the grass (this is a decision
made by Brunswick County Parks & Rec Department -- not SYS). Games
can still be played if the fields are dry and itšs merely sprinkling.
As we move into fall, chilly temperatures will have a lot to do
with whether we play in a light rain or not. If we have last-minute
rain-outs, your coach MUST be able to reach you and leave a message
that you will actually receive. Parents are responsible for checking
voice-mail, e-mail, and answering machines on a regular and timely
basis near game time. Team jerseys must be worn on the outside
of clothing. All players are required to wear shin guards.
Teams
may re-schedule rained-out games for Sat., Oct. 11 --- no games
are scheduled that Saturday due to the 3-day-weekend for Columbus
Day. Trophies will be handed out at the last game, Nov. 22. If
you cannot be there for the last game, please let your coach know
ahead of time. HAVE A GREAT SEASON AND ENJOY YOURSELVES! THANKS
TO OUR TEAM SPONSORS!!
